The part no one fixes

You do everything right at 10pm. So why are you wide awake before your alarm rings?

You only realise how important sleep is when you lose it. You've dropped the bedroom temperature to a crisp 18°C. You cut off caffeine strictly at noon. You hid your phone an hour before bed and went through a flawless wind-down routine. And sure, you might drift off to sleep…

Yet, just after a few hours, you're stirred awake and staring at the dark ceiling. Your mind immediately goes to work. You're mentally counting down the hours and minutes you have left before you need to be up, and you can't help but spiral into thinking about how this is going to affect your energy tomorrow. And it's simply exhausting.

That's because perfect sleep hygiene can't fix an internal biochemical deficit. Which is why we created Serune — to protect your sleep architecture from the inside out.

Why the usual routes fall short

You've been fighting this for months. And it's not from a lack of trying.

We know you've actively hunted for an answer, spent the money, and done the research. But when every new remedy you try still leaves you stranded in the same frustrating 3am wake, it's natural to become deeply sceptical.

  • The melatonin pill Synthetic melatonin is a short-term trigger designed to help you drift off for the first part of the night. But it exits your system rapidly, leaving your nervous system entirely unsupported, and you find yourself awake at 3am anyway.
  • The magnesium supplement Generic magnesium pills rely on cheap, low-grade compounds that are incredibly difficult to absorb. They sit heavily in your digestive tract, failing to reach your system throughout the night, while leaving you with a heavy morning fog.
  • The wellness teas Standard bedtime blends use unstandardised, loose herbs. They simply lack the biological strength and concentration required to maintain a quiet, steady rest environment throughout your night.
  • Proprietary blends A white-label formula, a long ingredient list, and a proprietary blend without telling you there's only a pinch of each. It looks impressive on a label. It costs almost nothing to make, which is why it never delivers what it promises.

How Serune is built differently

We spent a long time on this formula, and most of that time was spent taking things out. Because instead of sprinkling a pinch of a long list of ingredients, we wanted each one to count.

Eight actives, each named, each printed in milligrams — properly characterised affron® saffron extract, L-theanine from real green tea, standardised herbs so the strength doesn't drift. Every dose is clearly listed, so you'll know exactly what's stirred into your nightly ritual, and exactly how much. After everything you've tried, here's a formula you can finally scrutinise for yourself.

The hero botanical

Saffron — the branded, characterised kind.

Saffron — long known as red gold — is one of the oldest and most precious in the world, and still the most expensive spice on earth. Most of what is sold is generic, and its strength is anyone's guess.

Our specially selected branded saffron, affron®, is precisely dosed at 28mg. This works from within to calm your central nervous system, regulating your brain's natural rest messengers and lowering overnight stress signalling.

A branded extract you can look up, at a dose you can check against the studies. That is the point of naming it.

Read the label before you buy anything

Eight actives. Named, precisely dosed, at their researched level.

No proprietary blends, no hidden amounts. Every dose is on the label — the whole persuasion is the specificity.

150 mg
Magnesium bisglycinate1
An essential mineral in a highly bioavailable bisglycinate form for superior absorption, so it actually reaches your system instead of sitting heavily in your stomach. Contributes to normal psychological function and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

The difference

Melatonin gets you down. It doesn't keep you there.

Serune was built for what comes after — the second half of the night. No melatonin, no hormones, nothing for the body to learn to lean on.

Still in testing

We're still deep in our testing process. But here's what people are saying so far.

Serune isn't finished, and we'd rather show you that than pretend otherwise. We've been sending early samples to a small group of testers along the way, most of them women who've been fighting the familiar 3am wake for years.

★★★★★*
Tastes like proper drinking chocolate, not a supplement. I was expecting to have to force it down, but it tastes like a drink I'd make at the end of the night to unwind anyway.
Zlatina, early tester
I like that it's not another pill I have to take — because now I look forward to the ritual of stirring the drink to signal the end of the day.
Karen, early tester
I have tried a lot of sleep supplements, but I still tend to wake up in the middle of the night. Since trying Serune, I've been feeling better rested and no longer dread evenings.
Anne, early tester
The tart cherry flavour is such a nice addition to the taste. Feels like I can enjoy a nightly treat with all the benefits that come with it.
Ash, early tester

Frequently asked

Questions

The product

How do I take it, and when will I know it works for me? +

One sachet stirred into about 200ml of hot milk or water, roughly half an hour before bed. Milk rather than water, if you can, as it makes a better drink, and it means you're not going to bed on an empty stomach. Each pack is a 28-night pack because it's built for a consistent ritual, not something you reach for on a bad night. Give it the full cycle before you decide.

It's built for the back half of the night. Do I need something else for the first half? +

Serune is built as a nightly ritual to support your rest architecture overall. It isn't a sedative, so it won't knock you out, and it isn't a quick fix you reach for on a bad night. It's one cup, taken nightly, with eight actives at precise doses, designed to be taken on its own. The full formula is above, so you can see exactly what's in the cup and decide for yourself whether you want anything alongside it.

Why cacao and tart cherry? +

A nightly ritual only works if it's something you look forward to, and nobody looks forward to a chalky beige powder. It's developed with real cacao laced with a hint of vanilla to give the depth of a comforting beverage at the end of the day. The Montmorency tart cherry adds a note that cuts the richness — the ingredient you'll recognise from every "sleepy girl mocktail" on the internet.

Is it vegan, and are there allergens? +

Serune is suitable for vegans and vegetarians, and it is gluten-free. The full ingredient and allergen list is printed on every pack.

The founding member offer

£42 is a lot for a drink. What am I actually paying for? +

It's 28 nights, so about £1.50 an evening, roughly what a coffee costs. Most of the money goes into the things you can't see on a shelf: characterised saffron rather than a pinch of the cheap stuff, L-theanine from real green tea rather than the synthetic version, standardised extracts so the strength doesn't drift, and doses large enough to be worth printing. It's made in the UK to the highest manufacturing standards — built to be trusted, not just marketed.

What am I paying now? +

Nothing. Joining the waitlist is free — your email reserves the £42 founder price, and you choose whether to go ahead when the drink ships.

Why isn't it available yet? +

Because it isn't finished, and we're not going to rush it. The formula is locked, but getting from a formula to something we'd put in your hands takes manufacturing and stability testing. When we know a date, the waitlist knows first.
